One County at a Time

By Billy Cayce -

To save our country, we have to start locally. And Citrus County is a good place to start. We need to put an end to the Good Old Boy & Girl System! Unfortunately for the common man and woman, greed and the lust for power have crept into our elections, with candidates willing do their power brokers' bidding. Evidently, Citrus County has more than a few power brokers. Among the more notable ones are Wallace Gene McGee (a lobbyist for the Citrus County School Board and the Citrus County Board of Commissioners), the hierarchy at the Chamber of Commerce and the Citrus County Chronicle.

Recently, we petitioned the Citrus County Board of Commissioners to remove all LBGTQ Displays from the Citrus County libraries, especially in the children’s section. After presenting our concerns to the Board of Commissioners on several occasions, they finally agreed to place the matter on the agenda for a vote during the January 4, 2022 Commission meeting at 1 p.m. Please come to the Commission Chamber located at 110 N. Apopka Avenue, Inverness, Florida 34450 to support us.

With the assistance of one of our Citrus Eagle researchers, we exposed the Harmony SEL Program as a socialist indoctrination program being utilized in our Citrus County School System. It appears to be a program used to teach our children to accept socialism and deviant behavior pushed by the Left.  Furthermore, it appears that the Citrus County School Board members either knew about it and have done nothing to stop it or knew very little to nothing about the program. We are not here to point fingers at anyone, but it is our job as parents and grandparents to protect our children from being brainwashed by such anti-American programs.  I’d like to ask each School Board member where are the programs to encourage our students to love and respect our country?

We discovered that the Harmony SEL program may be mandated by the state. If so, the Citrus County School Board members should have stood up to these tyrants and refused to include this program in the Citrus County Schools.  It only takes one brave soul to stand up against tyranny and others will join in the endeavor. David stood up against Goliath, Washington refused to surrender, Rosa Parks refused to get off of the bus and Gandhi refused to accept British rule. All it takes is one Citrus County School Board member to stand up and show parents and voters alike that they refuse to accept this mandate and the others will follow. This mandate is not in keeping with what America stands for, and especially is not in keeping with maintaining a free and prosperous America.

I have two grandchildren in the Citrus County School System and sincerely hope the Citrus County School Board along with Superintendent Sam Himmel and the 10 school psychologists will make the necessary changes to stop Harmony SEL and any other similar program from being taught to our children.

If this program is not eliminated, the Citrus County School Board and the Citrus County School administration need to be removed and replaced with citizens who care about the wellbeing and proper education of our children.

  1. This is an excellent article. I agree 100% that it is time that WE THE PEOPLE take our country back and that it begins with the county. Our children are the future of this country and for far too long, most of us have set back and allowed a select few determine what the youth learn. This year has shown us, the time is now, and it will no longer be ignored. We have seen examples of this in videos being posted by parents throughout the country. Citrus County should be no different.

I attended a meeting not long ago and heard one of the school counselors make the claim that the SEL/CRT/1619 Project was chosen because it was free, I also have heard that there was not an option for an American Pride program, something akin to that anyways. Well, I am here to inform you that was a blatant lie if one has ever been told. The American Pride program is called the 1776 Project. It can be located for FREE at Hillsdale College. They are the only college that takes no subsides or money from the Federal Government. NONE!
I will also suggest that the School Board obtain this K-12 program and full curriculum, invite a representative of the program to come to CC for a Town Hall meeting. I would expect to see an invitation in the local newspaper the Chronical, informing parents and concerned citizens to come and learn what this curriculum is about. There should no longer be secret meetings and secret votes as to what is being taught and parents should never be left out of the decision making. Elected official or not, when one seeks to deceive, it will be revealed.

  2. WE THE PEOPLE is exactly correct, I cannot say any more, than what the message above, has said.
We are quick to say "what can one person do?" well, this Club is bringing us all together to fight for
our rights and get rid of what is wrong.
