Hernando man gets visit from sheriff's office after email to Holly Davis

Image
By John Labriola -  A 66-year-old Hernando man got a Thanksgiving-eve knock on his door from the sheriff's office after sending Citrus County Commissioner Holly Davis an email challenging her on her LGBT activism in strong terms. On Nov. 23, B. James Colantropo emailed Davis in response to her shocking remarks at the last county commission meeting, in which she appeared to advocate for homosexual grooming of children in the county libraries .  "Rest assured that the good people of this county will not stand by and let you get away with your leftist agenda," Colantropo wrote. He then added: "Count your days because they are numbered." The next morning, two sheriff's detectives showed up at Colantropo's door. "They wanted to know what my intentions were, as they said my email could be construed as threatening," said Colantropo, who explained to them that his words were meant politically, not as a physical threat.  "Basically they understood

Commissioner Holly Davis reveals she is a puppet of "influential" pressure groups and individuals

By John Labriola - The Citrus County Commission's annual reorganizational vote will take place at 1 p.m. at the Nov. 30 county commission meeting. The five-member commission will decide who will serve as the commission's next chair, a position that rotates among commissioners every year. The selection of a chair  –  who presides over commission meetings and signs various documents authorized by the commission  –  is ordinarily a fairly routine matter that doesn't generate much discussion or debate. But this year's chair election has exposed fault lines on the commission that reveal the alarming extent to which certain commissioners may be controlled by powerful special interests and liberal elites in the community who want to run the county behind the scenes.  The chairmanship normally goes to whoever has held the position of First Vice Chair over the preceding 12 months. The current First Vice Chair is Commissioner Ron Kitchen, but at the Nov. 9 commission meeting Comm

Commissioner Scott Carnahan thinks you're a joke

Image
By John Labriola - Americans are rising up like never before against left-wing indoctrination and homosexual grooming of children in our schools, our libraries and our public institutions in general. After being disrespected, demeaned and demonized as "domestic terrorists" by liberal elites, outraged conservative voters from Virginia to the west coast showed their muscle earlier this month by scoring stunning upset victories in some of the bluest states and counties in the nation. It's no secret that Citrus County is no bastion of liberalism. In fact, Citrus voters rejected the Biden/Harris ticket last year by a whopping 71-to-29 percent margin  –  one of the widest among Florida counties.  So you would think our nominally Republican county commissioners would have taken notice when large numbers of parents and citizens came to speak out against LGBT tyranny at not just one but several Citrus County Commission meetings over the course of the last six months. But you'd

Christians are not domestic terrorists

Image
By Rohini DeSilva - They made up this silly rule that Christians should not talk politics. Pastors throughout the country abided by this rule. I have challenged anyone to name a single "political issue" they won't talk about which is not also a "moral issue" they should talk about. But nobody can answer. We should finally recognize this was a trick played on us to exclude us Christians from the public sphere and allow Democrats/Communists to indoctrinate our kids with all kinds of LGBTQ and CRT/1619 issues.  Here is a case in point: Parents wouldn't talk of their disapproval of the gay lifestyle because they wanted to be viewed as "nice, tolerant" people, or because they know a nice gay guy.  Now their little kids are being taken to gay bars; others are performing lap dances on their teachers' laps in their school gyms with the teachers twerking on the children's butts, and teachers have posted LGBT flags in the classrooms and promise to tu

Commissioner Holly Davis wants Citrus County to promote homosexuality to children

Image
By John Labriola -  Citrus County Commissioner Holly Davis raised eyebrows at the Nov. 9 commission meeting when she declared that she wants our county libraries to be a place where children can access books promoting homosexuality as a positive lifestyle so they can feel at "peace" with becoming practicing homosexuals and/or pursuing transgenderism. (See video above.) Davis, a committed leftist, justified her heinous views by citing long-debunked claims that children are "born" homosexual. This propaganda myth pushed by the LGBT political movement has been thoroughly discredited by multiple scientific studies over the last 25 years.   What is true is that people engaged in LGBT lifestyles have much higher suicide rates than the general population. The logical conclusion to draw from this statistic is that discouraging children and adults from going down the path of homosexuality and transgenderism (or at least not encouraging them to do so) would SAVE LIVES . No to higher gas taxes

Image
By John Labriola - As gas prices continue to soar under Biden, Citrus County won't be trying to add to the pain at the pump by raising local gas taxes. At a Nov. 9 workshop to discuss funding road repairs, the Citrus County Commission declined to pursue the idea of placing a referendum on the ballot asking county voters to approve an extra 1 cent sales surtax per gallon, although liberal Commissioner Holly Davis said she supported the idea. According to a staff memo, the county needs about $10 million per year for all local roads to be paved on a 20- to 25-year cycle, but it currently only collects and spends about $3 million a year in existing gas taxes.  Rather than raising taxes, the county could consider not approving any more capital projects that increase the county's debt. If annual debt service weren't such a big part of the budget, the county might have enough money to repair the roads that most need repaving.

Rittenhouse Trial: A Local Perspective

Image
By Harry Cooper - The case against Kyle Rittenhouse is over (he should not have been charged in the first place), but there are various bits of fallout that must be addressed. First I do not think that anyone would disagree that the prosecutor, who was shady to say the least, and who pointed an AR-15 at the jury, should be prosecuting traffic cases come tomorrow. His actions were so off the wall one wonders if he was seeing the same case we were; but to point any kind of firearm at anyone all – with the finger in the trigger well is absolutely lunacy! I was a weapons specialist in the military and I can state without fear of contradiction, that anyone who knows anything about firearms at all knows that even if you watch someone clear a weapon and hand it to you – you clear it again yourself! To do anything less is looking for a disaster. This clown has to be sent to Traffic Court and maybe even have sanctions against him. Second – Has anyone wondered why these guys who were shot were e

Education or Abuse?

Image
By Frank D. Lovell - Let's begin by agreeing we all support the protection of individuals who choose to live a different lifestyle. We have an obligation to defend their rights as citizens, but I do not believe we have an obligation to promote their lifestyle. When a 7-year-old child goes to school or a library and is exposed to a sexual lifestyle without their parents even being aware, that is not education, that is abuse. When the same child goes to school and is subjected to information that leads them to believe the color of their skin dictates the quality of their future or that those of a different color intend to do them harm that is not education, that is abuse. Not only abuse, it is a violation of our laws, it is racist. As Americans, we cannot allow any element of government to allow and promote such activity and it is our obligation and duty to protect the future generations of Americans from such abuse. The well-being of our children is our responsibility, not a functio

Defend Florida seeks Citrus County volunteers

Image
By Tracy Edgmon - Defend Florida, the grassroots citizens organization dedicated to ensuring that We the People have free and fair elections, is seeking Citrus County volunteers to assist in its statewide canvassing effort, which has about 10,000 volunteers in more than half of the state’s counties.  Defend Florida’s canvassing is focusing on anomalies based on the voter rolls, voting habits, and other criteria to determine accuracy in the vote count and totals. It is believed that every county in Florida had some level of voter fraud in 2020.  If you would like to be a part of this effort, please text "Defend" to 91776.

A Reader's Perspective: Liberal bias at the Citrus County Chronicle

Image
In a recent Letter to the Editor in the Citrus County Chronicle, an 81-year-old Homosassa gentleman stated that he had not taken the vaccination, had gotten and recovered from covid and his natural antibodies keep him safe.  He further asked if the ‘lockdown of the world’s economies plus other human devastations, such as our education system’ really were necessary. Great question, and one that any intelligent person should ask. This prompted what appears to be a rebuttal by the editor, suggesting that this man was wrong. ow can anyone be wrong about their own experiences? Or is it that the Chronicle only wants to see one side? As a member of a very large conservative group in the county, I frequently had letters in that section until I noticed that my letters were being heavily edited to the point they did not convey what I had written.  This prompted a rather heated phone conversation with editor Mike Arnold in which he said the Chronicle has the right to edit to prevent vulgar words.

Commissioner Holly Davis mocks vaccine critics

Image
By John Labriola - At a recent Citrus County Commission meeting, when confronted with her use of the word "hogwash" to belittle the concerns of COVID-19 vaccine critics, Commissioner Holly Davis was caught in a lie when she denied ever using the word in her life. See the video above. Davis also cited supposedly "official statistics" regarding hospitalizations, which are contradicted by the latest data from covid vaccine early adopter states like Israel and the UK, where a majority of covid hospitalizations and deaths are among the vaccinated, not the unvaccinated. She also ignored the fact that people who have already contracted covid and recovered have high levels of natural immunity that no vaccine can provide, and that more than 16,000 Americans have died from the covid vaccine so far according to the U.S. Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) database, which is known for vastly understating the actual number of vaccine deaths. When commissioners were as

Stopping LGBT propaganda in the libraries

Image
By John Labriola - Well over a dozen concerned citizens showed up at the Nov. 9 Citrus County Commission meeting to voice their opposition to LGBT propaganda exhibits in the libraries. This issue, which remains unresolved and requires our continued vigilance and attention, first came up this summer when dozens of residents showed up at a commission meeting to complain about the "Gay Pride Month" displays that were set up in the libraries this past June. A very special thank you to Elaine Kleid, who had the courage to come in front of the commission to set the record straight after a lot of garbage from Library Director Eric Head, who was responsible for this year's LGBT displays and has continued to defend them. Mrs. Kleid, the only conservative on the county's Library Advisory Board, had everyone on the edge of their seats as she described her shock at seeing another library board member physically assault this reporter at a recent library board meeting after a neigh
